A Torsion Spring is designed to be twisted, unlike a compression spring which is designed to be compressed and an extension spring which is designed to be extended. Torsion Coil Springs are often used in ‘pop-up’ operations such as are used in digital cameras, CD players and other similar items.
Torsion Springs are available in a variety of materials, the most common being carbon steel or stainless steel, depending on the environment into which the springs are entering. Both Torsion and Double Torsion Springs are made to achieve the best possible results with a variety of leg positions and tips depending upon application.
JT Adams (Springs) Ltd. can produce Torsion Springs up to 2.64mm (.104”) on our torsion coilers.
