Extension springs, also known as tension springs, apply a resistive force as the spring extends and are commonly utilised to move or return a component part. Extension springs require special ends to permit application of the load and these ends assume many forms.
Extension springs are available in a variety of materials, the most common being carbon steel or stainless steel, depending on the environment into which the spring is entering. End coils can be single or double German loop, single or double English loop, side loop, extended hook loop or even no loops according to application. More technical ends are available i.e. swivel hook, reduced/enlarged diameter loop or screw end on request.
Typical end customers include:
• Engineering companies
• Classic vehicle/motorbike restoration
• Defence industry
• Drink dispensers/vending machines
• Pleasure boat industry
